Importance of PMP Certification Course


The Project Management Professional (PMP)® is the most important industry-recognized certification for project managers offered by the International Management Consultancy Institute (IMC). 

A PMP certification is a required prerequisite to becoming a project manager if you are interested in the field it shows a potential employer that you are committed to the role, as well as having a solid grounding in the methodologies of project management.

Who can apply?

To be eligible to take the PMP certification training there are two possible routes. These are the prerequisites:
  • Secondary degrees, such as a diploma, international equivalent or associate’s degree
  • 7,800 hours of experience in project management
  • 36 hours of course in project management (webinars, seminars, development days)
Or:
  • 4,800 hours of experience in project management
  • 36 hours of course in project management 
  • A four-year degree
As you can see from the above trend line, the PMP trend grows at a steady rate of 10%. However, last year the growth rate of PMP was 12% due to edition changes from the 5th to 6th edition.

How to get PMP certification?

The evaluation of worthiness for PMP certification is through an exam set by the International Management Consultancy (IMC) Institute. You can apply to take the PMP certification course at one of the hundreds of PMI chapters around the world and directly at the IMC institute.
